Leading architectural masonry manufacturer Besblock of Telford has just completed a major project in the West Midlands.

The Halesfield-based company was chosen to supply 2,500 square metres of its 'Millennium' blocks to the Fore Park scheme in Solihull, where a prestigious four-storey office development has been constructed by BAM Properties of Queensway, Birmingham.

"This was an important contract for us as Fore Park is a flagship development in a very prominent position - it is billed as being the best business location in the West Midlands, sited only minutes from Birmingham Airport and the M6, M5 and M40 motorways," said Robin Huxley, a director of Besblock.

"The project required us to supply masonry blocks in split and shot-blast facing, many of them cut to bespoke shapes, to the 40,339 sq ft office building.

"The sophisticated cutting and bonding processes employed at our Telford base enables specialist profiles and sizes to be created to meet clients' individual needs.

"The Fore project is an excellent show-case for these products - BAM is delighted with the appearance and environmental advantages of the blocks." Robin added.

BAM Properties is part of a European construction group and as well as office developments its work covers the education, retail, health, leisure and law sectors.

The specification of the Fore office building included a BREEAM rating of "very good", an Energy Performance Certificate rating of Band a building management system which optimises energy efficiency.
